Hey everyone, I am not sure how much people notice things, but one thing I notice is what a great job Bob Vavas has done since taking over maintaining the website from me.  Not only did it relieve me of another duty that I had on my plate, which I am very grateful for, but he has more time than I did to really devote himself to learning all of the functions possible with this great website software, and put them to use.

So thank you Bob, for all you are doing.  The site looks fantastic.  And if any of you see Bob at the range tell him that you too notice how good the website looks, and how much information is really there.  Actually, everything anyone needs to know about Redcliffs Rifle & Pistol Range and Association can be found on the website.

On Saturday April 22nd, 2017, we held two Bowling Pin Matches. Our morning match was held in the new bays. There were 26 entrants, 20 pistol and 6 rifle.

Our afternoon match was a Bowling Pin Sniper Match at 200 yards. This proved to be a very difficult task and truly tested your shooting skills. This was our first attempt at this type of Match and will need some revamping, as all new matches do.

The results from both Matches are posted on the "ALL MATCH RESULTS PAGE". Check it out and give it a try the next time we hold these Matches. This is a great time and lots of fun!!

This is an entry level Match geared to all levels of shooters from beginners to advanced. The only requirement is a Military Issue High Power Rifle with Iron Sites. There is a safety briefing before each match. The Match Director is Ken Fladrich, who has put on various Matches and Clinics for years in California through his gun shop the Armory of Orange.  He is now retired in St. George and wants to start these Matches up again for the the LOVE of the SPORT.

We have so far had five High Power Matches; in Nov & Dec 2016 and one Sniper Match in Jan 2017,Feb.25th, and an M-1 Garand Mar. 25th.  Results and photos of the Matches are posted on the website.  We all had fun at all the Matches.  Thus far these Matches are not CMP Certified but are in the works to be Certified. Currently the NON-Certified Matches are only $10 per shooter.  All proceeds are donated to the Red Cliffs Range. Future Matches are planned for once monthly usually on the 4th Saturday after range closure.  As interest increases we plan to have more M-1 Garand Matches and possibly a dedicated AR-15 Rifle Match. Next month's match will be on Saturday April 22nd and will be a 200 yard BOWLING PIN MATCH. Any gun, any sights, any position, no artificial supports except a sling. 10 shots for 6 bowling pins, repeated in 3 different lanes. EACH LANE TIMED INDIVIDUALLY!!!! 30 ROUNDS TOTAL.

Any inquiries can be addressed to Ken or Christine (McCarthy) Fladrich at  Hope to see you out there shooting and having fun increasing your knowledge and skill.

We have issued some Free Shooting Day Passes to the South Utah Friends of NRA for the Banquet Saturday March 17th, 2017.  They do have an expiration date of September 18th, 2017 on them.  We would like to make sure that if or when they are used we keep track, so we get an accurate accounting of how many get used when we do give out free passes at events like this or the Gunshow.  SO if you are working the office, make sure that if someone uses a Free Pass like this, it goes on the sheet as a Free Shooter and note Pass on there and put the Used Pass in the daily envelope, after you punch it with a hole punch a couple of times.  Below is a picture of the Pass, printed on a business card size sheet.

If you want to use the classroom and/or training bays you must get it placed on the schedule and you MUST clean up after yourself! This means policing your brass, cleaning up any trash you might have and any target stand which are used MUST be returned to where they are stored on the main range. If you don't you will LOSE your ability to utilize those facilities!

    Thank You

I want to thank those who were on the work party this morning who raised the light standards into place for the training bays. The lights are in place and all that is needed is for Rocky to pull the wiring and get them energized. A big thanks to Larry Shell for all of his hard work in fabricating the light poles and getting everything ready for them. If you see Larry at the range please thank him for all he has done for the range. Another big thanks to Wheeler Cat for again letting use  a back hoe which was used for trenching for the conduit.

    Thank You

    George Ghio
